Hey MannyR! If you installed NI-CAN drivers, you should be able to find C examples in LabWindows example finder.

Hi MannyR,Can you make sure that the 'CVI Support' feature of the NI-CAN installer was turned on? What version of CVI are you using? See KnowledgeBase article # 2V27R4HR ( What is the Latest Version of NI-CAN That Supports My Version of LabVIEW or LabWindows/CVI?) for NI-CAN/CVI compatibility. When you have CVI open, is the NI-CAN entry in the libraries menue solid or grayed out?Further more, NI-CAN can support only one version of CVI at a time. Typically that is the latest version found, unless you have already NI-CAN support for an older version of CVI installed. (also see this issue with the NI-845x software: USB-8451 No longer works with CVI 8.5.1). -B2k

Hello Biker2000,
I am using CVI 8.0, and yes, on Libraries->NI-CAN it is shown as solid, I have access to the FP functions, but I still want to have access to the FP file in order to create a wrapper class for C#. I need to translate this CVI application to a managed environment with the use of .NET 2005.
Thanks by your comments.
MannyR.

Hello MannyR,NI-CAN does not have an .fp file but uses an .lfp file instead (just like NI-DAQmx). The .lfp files were introduced for LabWindows/CVI 7.0 and newer. However, try the attached file. It should work unless it collides with the already installed .lfp file.-B2k
